Tools provided by Nature

To support life to grow, nature has provided us with the necessary tools along-with the principles for its harmonious functioning. Anyone going against its principles is not following the laws of nature. Therefore, we must have awareness in all postures. If there is any imbalance, it needs to be corrected. We are fortunate that most of the times nature is self-correcting. However, you can correct this imbalance only if you are aware and equanimous. With such awareness (from the gross to the subtlest), one has to walk on the middle path.

The human body is a perfectly mechanized tool. To support this mechanism, nature has provided ‘muscles to support the skeletal system’. The skeletal system, in turn, protects the organs and the other intricate mechanisms of the nervous, circulatory, glandular, respiratory systems, etc.

Therefore, to hold the body up against gravity, we need to have strength in the muscles. But, due to lack of use and abuse, the muscles lose strength. Muscle atrophy takes place. Once the person loses muscle mass and strength, many negative manifestations take place. Therefore, as people grow older, they shrink in size and their spine compresses (postural alignment changes). The body loses alignment and all the organs are compressed. The breathing mechanism is also compressed leading to shallow unnatural breath. The mind loses awareness and becomes gross.

Besides, the muscle also performs or aids other functions that the other organs perform such as blood circulation, digestion, elimination of toxins, breathing, sensing, etc. Muscles function as a multi-functional organ of the body and share the load of other organs.
