I want to start exercising daily but I fear it would affect my studies / work?
This is a misconception. In fact, it is own fear which would affect your studies
/ work. If you start exercising and training your mind, body and breath, you
will notice the focus will improve. This in turn will enhance your memory and
studies / work efficiency.

I can take out one hour out of my schedule every day for training,
but cannot guarantee a "particular" hour. Will that affect my health
adversely?
Ideally, between each training sessions, the body must get 24 hours rest. Therefore
if possible you must train at the assigned hour. However, if you can not, you
can train at your own convenience. This will not affect your health adversely.
In fact, as you progress, your body itself will adapt and reschedule itself
to your bio-rhythm.
How do I know which type of gym exercise is best suited for me?
Any exercise, if done in absolute comfort zone, is good exercise. Never exert
yourself beyond your body’s permissible limits. Second yard stick is
to maintain natural breathing rhythm whenever you are exercising.
Which technique out of meditation, body training, and pranayam is better to
manage stress?
All techniques which integrate the training of body, mind and breath are good
techniques. Essentially, the resultant yard stick should be a feeling of well
being in the state of body, mind and breath. All the labels which these techniques
carry are meaningless if they do not help you experience a sense of well being
and all the three parameters of mind, body and breathe simultaneously. For
example, you may feel sense of physical well being but mentally you would be
experiencing total chaos. May be you will experience mental peace but no physical
balance. So any technique of meditation, body training and pranayam doesn’t
integrate all these three parameters is an incomplete technique.

What steps should I take to get rid of anxiety?
Anxiety is a state of mind which is reflected and manifested through the physical
body. A simple way to tackle anxiety is to start training at gross level
that is working the physical body with any activity which you enjoy doing.
As you progress further, you can start training your breath which would further
change your state of mind.
How many hours of exercise is needed in a week to stay fit?
If you are committed to health, exercise must become a part of your life -
a habit as regular as your daily shower. This is the most important factor
in the success of an exercise program. Here are some ways that people have
successfully made exercise a part of their lives:
Log everything you do for a week (you can even make mental notes). Find the
spots where you can fit in exercise. Make an appointment with yourself to exercise,
and treat it as importantly as any other appointment you have. Make exercise
a part of your routine
At my office place, work is all mental work. Would exercise help me improve
my productivity?

I am new to weight training, how should I begin?
Seek advice from a professional.
I am carrying a past injury, is it ok for me to do weight training?
If the injury is healed, you may start weight training in consultation with
a professional health expert and your doctor.
Is it true that overweight people are to avoid weight training?
The reverse is true. Over weight will benefit from a properly designed health
programs which includes weight/strength training.
Is taking supplements necessary for weight training?
Not at all. There is no connection between weight training and supplements.
The trend of taking supplement was started by the western society which has
no science of dietary pattern. Their basic eating patterns are very erratic
and incomplete in essential food ingredients. Therefore to have a complete
healthy meal they have to complete their food with supplements. But any individual
having a wholesome meal need not ingest external supplements. Weight training
has no connection whatsoever with supplements.
What exercise would you prescribe to increase my height?
This is a myth that with exercising an individual can increase the height.
The height of any individual is pre-decided by the genetic code he/she has
inherited from their parents. What exercise does is to enhance your postural
alignment thereby giving a feeling of increased height.
I am practicing yoga for last 10 years, why should I do weight training?
There are three essential physical parameters which need to be trained for
overall physical balance. They are strength, flexibility, endurance. Weight
training is the fastest way to enhance the parameter of strength. Most yoga
schools in the world today are teaching only assanas (postures) in the name
of yoga. These postures are nothing but flexibility exercises. They complete
only one parameter, namely flexibility. Therefore for complete physical program
weight training is an essential ingredient.
I have back pain, is it because of my sitting posture?
Back pain for any individual could be because of many reasons. But basically,
it might occur due to an internal physical or mental imbalance. It might
also occur due to external factors like improper posture, impact or accident.
Should girls do weight training? If so what would you prescribe?
Weight training is a unisex mode of strength training and can be practiced
by anyone under professional suprevision.
