A Matter of Energy
Energy cannot be created or destroyed but it can change form from one to another.
This is a fundamental law of nature. This law applies to all things in the universe, whether animate or inanimate and including humans (I specifically mention this because most humans have started to believe that they are above the law).
This ego of alienating ourselves from nature is a cause of dissipating of energy. We see a majority of the population feeling drained and unhealthy in spite of the technological advancement at our disposal. On the contrary, the technology was supposed to make life easier and healthier for us.
We must understand the root cause of our failure to live a happier and more energetic life. We are all energies vibrating at a particular frequency. Mind is the forerunner of all things. Every thought is energy. Thoughts which drain you are negative thoughts and thoughts which make you feel happy and energetic are positive thoughts. Negative thoughts, negative speech and negative actions dissipate energy. As humans we have a choice and we can give direction to the energy. We cannot destroy or create energy. We can become mediums through which energy flows. Let us understand the reasons for losing or dissipation of energy. Everything we do is an expression of energy. Energy dissipation happens at basically three levels—body, breath and mind:
negative thoughts, | 2 | anger,
violence, | 4 | lying,
craving, | 6 | aversion,
fear, | 8 | conflicts,
obsessive passion, | 10 | intoxication,
greed, | 12 | ego, jealousy,
covetousness, | 14 | ill-will,
hatred, | 16 | animosity,
delusion, | 18 | aging,
incorrect breathing, | 20 | incorrect alignment of the body,
incorrect training patterns, | 22 | incorrect posture,
incorrect eating habits, | 24 | incorrect working habits,
incorrect sleeping habits, | 26 | noise pollution,
air pollution, | 28 | technology pollution,
excessive use of sensory organs, | 30 | excessive sense door pleasure,
hoarding (of anything), | 32 | attachment,
unrealistic goals, | 34 | depression,
self-pity, | 36 | continuous use of medicine/ drugs,
extensive use of medicine or drugs, | 38 | ritualistic belief,
superficial celebration of devotion, | 40 | following the herd mentality,
intellectual arguments, | 42 | intellectual gymnastics,
excessive philosophy, | 44 | religious fanaticism,
competition, | 46 | all psycho-somatic disorders,
unnecessary social talk, | 48 | newspaper and television,
excessive internal dialogue, | 50 | people reflecting the above patterns.
The list is just a glimpse of the tip of the iceberg. Basically all these can be divided in three categories: body, breath, and mind. Since everything is energy and it changes form from one to the other, we must understand that energy dissipation can be an interchanging phenomenon. This means that a state of mind will be reflected through breath and will also manifest itself on the body. Similarly a state of body will be translated on the breathing mechanism and, in turn, will have an effect on the mind. There is a solution to come out of this vicious cycle. To live a life of a warrior is the only way out. The warrior is the one who trains his body and uses it as a tool to train the mind. It is easy, and at the same time, difficult. It is easy because all you have to do is to live a life close to the laws of nature. It is difficult because you have to train yourself to be aware. That is the only requirement.
