KUKIKAN has given me back so much of health/life, that it is almost like a miracle!
Since many years, I had a single kidney, due to a horse accident that crushed one of my kidneys...The remaining one, has been through so much for over 20 years...& of course been a major concern,- how to live life?!...Then came along hip joint arthritis, for which the orthopedics could only suggest joint replacement...Both joints were told to need this, in it's time... A severe knee injury after a fall, quite recently, with a smaller muscle totally ruptured...& more injuries over the years, the 'wear & tear' in the body, due to a life as a sports woman (1st league volleyball player in Sweden and France) for many years in my youth...It all gave much of discomfort and pain...And NOW, after having learned under Sensei Kuki, the basic principles of Kukikan...It is as if I have gotten a 'lease on Life'!

alt "Have you ever experienced non-stop severe pain in your hand causing severe discomfort and restlessness? Which leads to a helpless feeling because you're not able to use hand for routine daily essential activities like combing your hair, dressing up, eating, driving and so many routine actions which otherwise you do automatically? This becomes more fearful when there is no relief with medicines, when painkillers fail to relieve pain, when sleeping tablets fail to induce sleep, when anxieolytics fails to dissolve anxiety.

Mrs. Kanta Kabra

alt "My husband’s death due to a heart attack had left me shattered. All I had was gone with his passing away. I left my home and town where I had spent my entire life and moved to Pune to live with my daughter Kiran. About 10 years passed by in Pune but even time could not heal the wounds. The depression had by then taken a toll on my health, my lifestyle, my eating patterns and age was not my side. I was weak, completely defeated and about 65 years old, when my beloved grandson Abhishek finally convinced me to meet Sensei Kuki. That meeting was to change my life.

It is completely true that it is oneself alone that can enjoy his good health and oneself alone that has to achieve it. Nobody else can do it for us. However, it is also of utmost importance that you have a mentor to guide your efforts. Sensei and this retreat was a wonderful experience for me because it pointed me the right direction and provided just the right push I needed.

altThe first time I met Sensei in his studio was just a few months to my wedding. His first question to me (as must be for most others) was "Why do you want to train?". I quite honestly answered that I wanted to get rid of my little tummy fat before I got married! Little did I know, one year down the line I would be training for far different results...

alt The year was 2006. I had been training with weights at a gym in Pune for about 3 years or more. My tickets to visit my daughter in the USA had arrived and I was scheduled to travel the next month. However, one morning, I had an excruciating pain in my leg. The magnitude of pain was so intense that I was unable to rest my leg on the ground or even move. Doctors' appointments and X Ray's followed immediately. Not much could be understood from the X Ray but an MRI revealed a ligament tear. Accordingly I began medical treatment. I was warned to not walk much, not climb stairs, not sit crossed legged for too long and so forth and so on. It was a great blow to an individual like me who otherwise was used to being on her feet all day long! These restrictions meant an end to life the way I knew it. A fortnight passed as the drama continued but there was no improvement whatsoever. The next step foreseen by the doctors was towards conducting a operation. I went into depression.
